I’m looking for a schedule of Debbi’s upcoming cooking classes/demonstrations. I attended one about 3 years ago at Wm-S at So Coast Plaza and would like to do so again with some friends.
Where can I obtain Debbi’s schedule?

      Hi Nancy,
I’m so sorry but at the moment I am not teaching anywhere in OC. I am available for private classes in your home, however. If you are interested you can contact me at info@debskitchen.com. I will be hosting local tours in and around Orange County that are food/wine/farm related soon. Sign up for my newsletter for updates. Thanks!

    Debbi,
Navy Bean Soup is not tasty to me. I am thinking I might like black bean soup. Could you give me an idea how to make it tasty enough to eat. I only eat refried beans out. I tried making them but they were horrible. I’m thinking smashed black beans in a soup might be to my liking but have no idea what to put in it accept garlic, salt and pepper. Could you help me?
I do not cook, I know nothing about it. But I am trying. I did make Butternut Squash Soup and it came out half ways decent. The neighbor said it was pretty good. I got it from a chef from a famous L.A. restaurant that was on Channel 4, one morning.
I hung around you the few times you came to the Plant Stand. I asked you about anchovies up in San Francisco where they sell fish in a building. I will introduce myself again when you come back to the Plant Stand.
You are the bomb. I love listening to you and learn so much from you. You know so much.
    Thanks for your time.
    Sincerely Yours,
    Charlotte

      Hi Charlotte,
I’ll send you some bean soup recipes and look for you at The Plant Stand. I’m there again Sat. 1/22 10 a.m. For the black bean soup, you might try adding some cumin and sea salt. A little jalapeno also helps give flavor. One thing I always start with is chicken stock, not water, add some finely chopped carrots, onions and even a little celery that have been quickly sauteed.

Debbi…Was SO good meeting you and your honey when you came to the Sow’s Ear!! I didn’t get a chance to give you my business card for my design business as I was running to keep up on other tables. Hope you both thoroughly enjoyed the Sow’s Ear and I’m glad I got your card and can follow your website and blogs! With my allergies, I can’t make a lot of your recipes but will find the ones I can try and enjoy them.

Let me know when you two are venturing back up to Cambria and I’ll look forward to seeing you. I don’t have a website to show you some of my work for design but am always happy to have you stop by for a glass of vino to see my own ‘lil cottage that I renovated.

    My best always,
Katy @ The Sow’s Ear and Quail Cottage Design Studio
